HARTFORD (CBS Connecticut) -- Saying it expects the rail line to see more snow and ice than some other parts of the region —  and fewer passengers because of the storm —  Metro-North has announced a reduced schedule for the morning commute.  27 of the usual 154 morning rush hour trains will be combined,  for an 18 percent reduction.

Patrol trains will run all night to keep the overhead wires clear of snow and freezing rain, and track maintenance personnel, mechanics and diesel locomotives will be standing by and rail heaters are being activated to keep the switches clear of snow and ice.

Here are the changes as released by Metro-North (or check the railroad’s website.)
