Man Avoids Prison Time In Child Sex Case

NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) – A Waterford man has avoided prison time and doesn’t have to register as a sex offender after taking a plea deal in an alleged sexual assault case involving a 13-year-old boy.

The Bulletin of Norwich reports ( ) that 35-year-old Frantz Isidor was sentenced Monday in New London Superior Court to three years of probation with several conditions, including having no contact with children without prior approval.

Isidor pleaded no contest in December to a coercion charge, after having been charged with the much more serious crimes of first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.

Authorities alleged he sexually assaulted a 13-year-old boy during a two-year period before his 2010 arrest, when he lived in Ledyard.

Prosecutors say the victim was reluctant to testify.
