Man Found Dead In Farmington Identified, Had Been In Earlier Accident

FARMINGTON (CBS Connecticut) — Farmington police say the man found dead alongside the Farmington Reservoir Friday had been in a minor motor vehicle accident on Reservoir Road earlier in the week.  The Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner says hypothermia and pre-existing medical conditions contributed to the death of 35-year-old Louis Fix.

Farmington Police say Fix had been involved in a minor motor vehicle accident on Reservoir Road Wednesday,  had spoken with witnesses — who said he appeared uninjured — and had left the scene.  Police officers and dogs searched,  but did not find him.  His body was found by a fisherman two days later.

Police say they don’t know why he left the accident scene,   or whether he left the area and returned.  They’re hoping to hear from anyone who has information which may help them close the case,  identified as incident 14-1585.  Call Farmington Police at (860) 675-2400.
