Reunited: Torrington Puppy Found Safe

TORRINGTON, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) _ An 11-week-old German Sheppard that went missing Monday has been found and reunited with the animal’s grateful owner.

The owner reported her dog Olivia missing for some time Monday and the search was called off late in the night. It resumed Tuesday morning and the dog was spotted, but eluded rescue and retreated into the woods.

Tuesday afternoon, animal rescue crews conducted a ‘bacon burn’ at the residence of a volunteer on Falcon Ridge in an effort to lure the dog from the woods.

Around 5 p.m. a resident en route to the area to assist in the search located Olivia off of Weed Road, not far from the dog’s home. Olivia appeared to be in good health, however her veterinarian was contacted as a precaution.

Olivia’s now back safe with her owner.
