HARTFORD (CBS Connecticut) — Hartford Fire Chief Carlos Huertas has released the name of the victims on Tuesday’s fatal fire on Bedford Street.  Four-year-old Shantay Drake died of smoke inhalation.

43-year-old Susan Therrien remains in critical condition at the Burn Unit of Bridgeport Hospital,  Six-year-old Kayla Drake has been released from the hospital.

Chief Huertas says the cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.

Hartford School Superintendent Christina Kishimoto issued a statement saying Shantay had won “the affection of her entire school community,” and asking that her memory be honored with a moment of silence and acts of kindness toward one another.
