A Crazy Idea
The “taxpayer giveaway ” program of the Malloy Supremacy is at it again. You will recall the mess in Hartford with the Hybird Insurance company getting taxpayers money to move from Windsor to Hartford and never paying it back, stiffing the employees and then scamming the city of Hartford for over $600,000 . In West Hartford the state gave money to a deli downtown, that then closed up shop; imagine, if you can’t make it in West Hartford with government money you can’t make it anywhere.
Last week it was the burrito shop in eastern Connecticut, they received $150,000 in taxpayer money never paid back a dime and closed up shop. But the real issue is that they were in foreclosure and had $730,000 in debt. That’s a lot of tacos, do you think you could have gotten government money if you were $730,000 in debt? The owner is nowhere to be found and the state’s money is gone; What a great way to “create jobs”. I have a crazy idea why don’t we lower taxes on all businesses rather than picking winners and losers?
