Connecticut mothers and a nurse-practitioner from Yale-New Haven Hospital were among the guests as the CBS News Magazine “60 Minutes” looked at the problems families have finding care for children with mental health problems.
Seven Connecticut mothers met with CBS’s Scott Pelley to talk about their problems with doctors and hospitals, insurance companies and state agencies as they tried to find help with their children. All said they had been to the emergency room more times than they cound count, while Brian Geyser told the program that too many children are released after too short a time because of insurance restrictions.
