St. Francis Hospital Patient Records Swiped

HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) _ Paper records containing medical information of nearly 900 patients at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center were stolen a month ago from the vehicle of an independent contractor physician who works in the emergency department.

The records only had names, birth dates and medical record numbers; they did not have social security numbers, financial information or addresses on them.

The hospital says no inappropriate access has been attempted, but they’re offering the patients free credit monitoring.
