Bears’ Hiring Of Pasqualoni Is Official
HARTFORD (CBS Connecticut) — The Chicago Bears website Thursday announced the hiring of former UConn Head Coach Paul Pasqualoni as an assistant on the Bears coaching staff. Pasqualoni was fired by UConn partway through last season.
The Bears hiring had been rumored since last week. (See earlier story.) He joins the staff of Marc Trestman as defensive line coach. The team also announced selection of Reggie Herring as linebackers coach. Trestman said defense will be a focal point for Bears improvement.
Pasqualoni, who grew up in Connecticut, had a 10 and 18 record with the Huskies in his three seasons in Storrs.
The Bears say both new assistants worked on the same staff as Bears special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis and running backs coach Skip Peete in 2010 when all were with the Dallas Cowboys.
