Erardi Tabbed To Lead Newtown Schools

NEWTOWN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) _ Newtown’s Board of Education selected a new superintendent at a meeting Friday night, choosing long-time leader of Southington schools, Dr. Joseph Erardi.

He takes over on a full-time basis for the interim superintendent, John Reed, who had been filling in since last May, when Dr. Janet Robinson left to lead Stratford’s school system. She was at the helm during the Sandy Hook Massacre.

Erardi had been leading Southington since 2007.

He’ll serve his final day April 11 and start in Newtown April 14.
