State Encourages Acceptance Of Veterans’ Licenses

HARTFORD (CBS Connecticut)– State officials say they want to raise awareness of an addition to Connecticut driver’s licenses aimed at helping veterans identify themselves to businesses in order to receive discounts, programs and services.

The Department of Motor Vehicles will place an image of a small American flag on the licenses of those requesting it, whose status as vets can be verified.  Governor Malloy says he wants businesses to accept such licenses as a valid veteran’s ID,  since some businesses have been reluctant to do so.
