Police Release Name Of Home Invasion Shooting

(Bridgeport, Conn./CBS Connecticut)  –  Police in Bridgeport have released the name of a man who was critically wounded in a Tuesday night home invasion.

They say 33-year-old Geraldo Costa was shot in the head during a struggle with the intruders in his home on Pond Street.

Costa is in St. Vincent’s Medical Center in critical but stable condition.

Responding officers noticed several people fleeing the scene upon arrival.

They lost sight of the suspects after they jumped into a brook.

Detectives say they believe the home was specifically targeted and the crime was not a random incident.
