Gunfire Outside High School Basketball Game

(NEW HAVEN,Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Gun shots rang out  in front of Hillhouse High School in New Haven Monday night, as a crowd of about  two thousand spectators was  leaving a  basketball game between Hillhouse and Career High  School.

Officer assigned to the game encountered a small group  running from the scene.Two adults were arrested and  a handgun as found discarded nearby.

A short time later Officers were called to  Dixwell Avenue and Munson Street  after   a person reported someone had been shot.A 14 year  old Hillhouse  student had suffered a gunshot wound to his hand  and  had been grazed by a bullet in his leg.The wounds were not life threatening and the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
