(East Hartford, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – The state fire marshal is part of the investigation into an early morning blaze in East Hartford.
Assistant fire chief Matt McCarthy says they got the call just before 1:30 on 9 Spencer Court.
He says initial reports had an explosion and fire at the site.
Nearly two dozen firefighters were needed to bring the blaze under control.
McCarthy says the building sustained extensive damage.
They can’t say for certain what sparked the fire or whether any contents within helped fan the flames.
