Two Dead In Second Fatal New Haven Crash Friday
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – A man and woman were killed when the car they were in collided into a utility pole near the Yale-New Haven Hospital facilities building at 730 Howard Ave. around 7:45 p.m. Friday. A second woman in the car is at Yale-New Haven Hospital in critical condition.
The building was not occupied and it is unlikely it sustained any significant damage. The man and woman were pronounced at the scene.
Police believe excessive speed and slippery road conditions are factors in the crash.
The identities and ages of the victims – all adults – are not yet known.
Earlier in the day, Walter Ruiz, 36, of New Haven, was a passenger killed in a crash at the end of a I-91 North exit ramp at State and James Streets in New Haven around 1 a.m.
