Body, Many Animals Found In Hartford House

A body was found this afternoon, in a house on Bannister Street in Hartford.

Dozens of cats and birds were also found in the house, and living conditions were poor.

Police Lieutenant Brian Foley says fans were brought in to improve the air quality for investigators, because of all the animals.

“In the search of the house we discovered a deceased male, who was pronounced dead by EMS workers,” Foley said.

Foley says the man’s death does not appear to be a homicide, but it is being investigated as suspicious as a precaution.

Several days ago, an elderly woman who lived at the home was taken to the hospital.

Bannister Street runs off of Flatbush Avenue.
