The University of Connecticut is tied for 21st place in a multi-sport ranking by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and the newspaper USA Today. The final standings in the “Learfield Sports Directors Cup” Division 1 fall standings will be released Jan. 9.
A statement from UConn says the NCAA national championship in field hockey and a quarter-final appearance in men’s soccer helped push Connecticut into a points tie with Florida, Maryland and USC. The rankings take into account ten men’s and ten women’s sports.

Stanford leads the standings followed by Virginia, Penn State, Michigan State and North Carolina.
