One In Custody After Norwich Standoff

NORWICH, Conn. (AP) _ Police have taken a man into custody, ending an hours-long standoff in a Norwich neighborhood.
WFSB-TV  reports that the incident ended Tuesday morning, about eight hours after Great Plains Road was closed at 2 a.m.

Police closed the road and called in a SWAT team, but did not provide details.

Police said the incident involves one person, but did not release a name.

A mobile command unit was set up in the area and a crew from Norwich Public Utilities was called to the scene.
