(Meriden, Conn./CBS Connecticut) Meriden police are investigating an armed robbery that happened this morning around 8:45 a.m. at the Colony Market, 640 Old Colony Rd.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned male wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black knit cap, and a scarf or mask covering the lower part of his face. The suspect entered the store, walked behind the counter, pushed the clerk and displayed a knife.

The suspect took money from the register and several packs of cigarettes. The suspect appeared calm and didn’t rush during the incident and may have fled in a black pickup truck. No injuries were reported.
