(Waterbury, Conn./CBS Connecticut) Waterbury police say a 23-year-old female was stabbed in the neck by her 36-year-old boyfriend who then stabbed himself, both dying, it’s believed, from the stab wounds to their neck.

Police were called to the scene at 258 Cooke Street around 3 p.m. Thursday. The knife was recovered.

Police say they’ve tentatively identified the victims, but have not released their names. Police say both victims are from Africa and have only lived in the United States for a short time, making identifying them more difficult.

An investigation into the murder-suicide continues.
