Danbury Police Make Arrest In Homicide

DANBURY, Conn. (AP) _ Danbury police have charged a teenager with murder and assault in the stabbing death of a 19-year-old man during a melee last weekend.

Police say they arrested 17-year-old Emanuel Von Harris of Danbury on Wednesday night and brought him to the Bridgeport juvenile detention center. It’s not clear if Harris has a lawyer.

Authorities responded to a large fight late Saturday night in the area of Wooster and Grand streets and found two people suffering from stab wounds.

Police say Luan Pitol of Danbury died from his injuries and the other victim survived. The News-Times of Danbury reports Pitol was an apprentice carpenter who lived with his parents and was a native of Brazil who came to the U.S. when he was 9.
