Man Charged After Kids Found Left In The Cold

A man is under arrest after Naugatuck police responded to a report of two small children wet and shivering, standing alone on North Main Street outside wearing only pajamas.

The call came in around 11:30 Tuesday morning.

Upon arrival, officers say the youngsters had red hands and faces, the result of standing out in the cold.

They were taken to a local hospital to get checked out.

Under arrest is 26-year-old Joseph Markey of Naugatuck.

He faces a charge of risk of injury to a child and was released on $5,000 bond.
