NORWICH, Conn. (AP) _ Norwich officials say they fired the city’s recreation director over allegations he made personal use of city equipment, allowed drinking of beer at adult softball games on city property and invited family members to a staff party in a luxury suite at the Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium.
The details behind the firing of C. Roger Moss were outlined in a termination letter released Monday by city officials in response to public records requests by The Bulletin and The Day of New London.
City Manager Alan Bergren fired Moss on Nov. 12. His job paid $78,302.
Moss has filed a grievance challenging the termination. He told The Day he objected to the release of the termination letter because his grievance is pending. He declined to comment further.
