Police Arrest Two Involved In New London Crime String

New London Police, along with assistance from Waterford and Groton City Police Departments, made two arrests Saturday in connection with a series of home invasions and burglaries in New London.

Authorities charged 20-year-old Jaden Alvarez, 20, of New London and Marcus Delgado, 19, of Groton with a string of criminal incidents including stealing from two homes on Pacific Street.

Police say they used a stun gun to steal money from a 91-year-old man at one of the homes.

The two also face charges for a home invasion on Crystal Avenue, and the burglary of an ice cream store on Bank Street.

Alvarez had been in custody on weapons charges.

Delgado was at the the Waterford Regal Cinemas when he was arrested.

Formal charges for both include home invasion, robbery and burglary in the first degree.
