Wolcott Police say they have arrested five men on possible cockfighting activities.

All suspects turned themselves in to police on Friday.

Jose Ortiz-Jimenez, 50, Carlos Talavera, 50, Juan Santos, 27, and Rey Santos, 27, all of New Britain, along with Luis Balanta, 47, of Hartford have been charged with Cruelty to Animals and failure to obtain Import Permits.

Authorities seized 126 roosters back in September following a complaint of animal cruelty.

All five men were released on $500 bond and are scheduled to appear in court on December 9th.
