The new owners of Powder Ridge Ski Park in Middlefield welcomed around 1,000 people to their grand opening celebration Friday night.
The owners held a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6pm.
“Powder Ridge has been a part of our history, a part of our fabric. It is a source of many, jobs,” said Middlefield First Selectman Jon Brayshaw.
Management says the park has new lights for night skiing, and snow making machines. There are plans to add a swimming pool, hiking trails, and other amenities.
The park closed back in 2007 after the previous owners filed for bankruptcy protection.
