Gov. Malloy Celebrates Small Biz. Sat.

MANCHESTER, Conn. (AP) _ Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is marking Small Business Saturday with a visit to a Manchester hobby shop.

Small Business Saturday is a nationwide campaign to encourage people to shop during the holidays at local businesses. Malloy was scheduled to appear Saturday afternoon at Time Machine Hobby, a family hobby and toy story that’s been in business since 1999.

Also on Saturday, Malloy is expected to administer the oath of office to the new mayor Stamford, a city that Malloy ran from December 1995 through December 2009. Malloy will swear in fellow Democrat David Martin during a ceremony at Martin’s home in Stamford.

Martin, a senior partner with a management consulting firm, replaces Republican Mayor Michael Pavia, who decided not to seek a second four-year term this year.
