Be Thankful. Enjoy Your Loved Ones. It Is What The Day Is About.
So here we are on the eve of Thanksgiving , worrying about our loved ones making it thru the weather and traffic of the holiday weekend, but there is excitement in the air for so many of us as we embrace our traditions and get some quality family time together. Unfortunately there are families spending more time planning their shopping for Black Friday and in some cases even on Thanksgiving Day. Isn’t it sad that this great moment to celebrate family and what we are thankful for has been high jacked by commercialism. I want to blame the stores and their greed but I also realize they wouldn’t be open if people didn’t race in for these silly sales. So as we shake our heads at these uncaring store owners, let’s remember that it’s our fault too. Solution ? We should all purposely not go shopping Thursday night reject the sales and watch football with our families after a great meal. Let’s encourage everyone we know to not go shopping… even call the stores that are open and tell them of your disappointment that those employees are having their Thanksgiving ruined. Let’s band together to hold onto a few of our grand traditions in America, especially this one celebrating family, hang onto it! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and Happy Hanukkah as well ! By the way it will be 70,000 years from now that both holidays will land on the same day again.
