Suspect Shot By Bridgeport Cops Dies

State police say a man shot by a Bridgeport police officer Monday night has died.

The incident occurred just before seven p.m.

Two armed suspects were ordered out of a vehicle by officers on patrol in the Boston Avenue area.

Police say at least one of the suspects pointed a weapon at officers, several of whom discharged their firearms.

The car attempted to flee, striking a curb.  Troopers say the suspects tried to run from the scene but were quickly apprehended.

The male suspect was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital.

The female suspect is being treated for non life-threatening injuries at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

Names of those involved have not yet been released.

As is the case when a police officer discharges a firearm, State Police are now heading the investigation.
