Wednesday’s predicted wind and rain storm could make it an even slower holiday getaway day than anticipated.

Triple A already projects 43-million Americans will be traveling 50 miles or more to their Thanksgiving destinations.

In New England, that number is expected to be just shy of 1.9-million, about 2.5% fewer travelers than last year.

A storm late Tuesday night through Wednesday afternoon is expected to have a significant impact, especially where air travel is concerned.

Back here, the Triple A’s Aaron Kupec says continued uncertainty withthe economy may hold down the number of travelers.

He says the good news is that gasoline prices are down 19 cents from the same point a year ago, even with a four-cent-a-gallon increase in the last week.
