Added State Police Enforcement for Holiday Weekend
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ The Connecticut State Police are gearing up for additional enforcement efforts this Thanksgiving weekend.
The day before Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving itself are the busiest traffic days of the year in Connecticut.
State police say there will be more troopers on the road than usual and they will be focused on drunken drivers and also targeting aggressive and unsafe drivers.
Drivers are asked to slow down, stay off their cell phones, and not drive if they’re drinking. They should also call 911 if they see someone who seems to be driving drunk.
Troopers will have sobriety checkpoints set up and roving patrols will target areas where there have been problems with drunken drivers.
