Hartford police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run that happened on Maple Avenue around 2:30am Sunday.

Officers found a male victim in his 30s at the scene. He was transported to Hartford Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses say the vehicle that hit the victim was a grey, four-dour sedan with front-end damage, possibly a Mitsubishi Gallant.

Authorities say an area of Maple Avenue at Kenneth Street will be closed during the investigation.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the hit-and-run is asked to call Detective Candice Hendrix at 860-757-4226. Anonymous tips can be reported to Crime Stoppers at 860-722-TIPS.
