Deadly Accident In Bridgeport

A 39-year-old woman died after she was partially ejected from her vehicle in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Street and Lafayette Boulevard Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened shortly after 1pm.

Due to the serious nature of the accident, the major accident unit responded to the scene, authorities say.

In addition to the woman who died, also in the car were two teenagers, 15 and 16, who were transported to Bridgeport Hospital with minor injuries.

Operators of the second vehicle reported no injuries, police say.

The intersection and surrounding streets were closed for a time, and were reopened around 5:30pm.

No arrests were made as a result of the accident. Police continue to investigate.
