Arrest Made In Bridgeport Homicide

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) _ Police have arrested a 27-year-old Bridgeport man in connection with the fatal shooting of a New York City man early Sunday.

Bridgeport police said Luis Rivera was arrested without incident Tuesday in New Haven on a warrant charging him with murder and criminal possession of a firearm by a felon.

Rivera is held on $1 millon bond in the slaying of Karlhenry Gay of Brooklyn.

Police said Gay was shot just before 3 a.m. Sunday outside Mainport Fish and Chips on North Avenue. They said Gay had been in Hamden and other locations in Bridgeport that night. Investigators believe there had been a fight earlier in the night that flared up again outside the restaurant, and Gay was shot when he got involved.

It’s not immediately known who is representing Rivera.
