Norwich Man Facing Multiple Drug Counts

Norwich police have arrested a city man a a slew of drug charges.

Just before 11 o’clock this morning, officers with assistance from the Statewide Narcotics Task Force picked up 30-year-old Eric Ortiz.

Armed with a search and seizure warrant, agents seized two dozen grams of crack cocaine, 80 bags of heroin, 50 grams of marijuana, two scales, cutting agents and packaging material.

In addition to the drugs, $2,200 in cash was also seized.

Ortiz did make the $50,000 bond.

He faces charges of possession of crack cocaine, possession with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of heroin and marijuan, and operating a drug factory.

Ortiz is due in court December 5.
