Veterans Honored In Wethersfield

The town of Wethersfield paid tribute to veterans during an outdoor ceremony at town hall today.

Among those on hand was 96-year-old retired U.S. Navy Chief Macinists’s Mate Herb Philbrick.

Chief Philbrick’s tour in the South Pacific included Iwo Jima.

Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman joined other local and state dignataries in reading a proclamation signed by Governor Dannel Malloy.

Keynote speaker Ted Graziani, a Vietnam veteran, implored the crowd to support veterans, particularly those returning home from multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
