Meriden police are continuing their investigation into Sunday’s fatal accident that left two young children dead, several family members injured, and a suspect behind bars.
Police say they are still awaiting the results of a blood alcohol test on 28-year-old Israel Gonzalez.
They say he was behind the wheel of an SUV that plowed into another vehicle in the area of Broad Street and Gale Avenue.
Right now, Gonzalez faces charges of evading responsibility, reckless driving, and driving without a license.
Killed were five-year-old Tatiana Cruz and her eight-year-old brother Lorenzo.
The childrens’s stepbrother and parents were seriously hurt.
Police say additional charges could be forthcoming against Gonzalez, who is being held on one-million-dollars bond.
