Suspicious Man Arrested at Bristol Walmart

A man  Bristol Police say was acting suspiciously  at the  Walmart on Farmington Avenue Tuesday  has been arrested.

Police say  21 year old  Anthony Perez of Bridgeport had been  hanging around the store most of the day.He had asked an employee  whether the store  had an alarm system and allegedly told the employee he had  a firearm and wanted to know if there were metal detectors  that would go off if he went into the store with the weapon.

When Officers arrived  just after 3:30pm Perez was  located in the food court. he had a pistol in his waistband that turned out to be a B-B gun.When told he was going to be arrested,Police say  Perez became  combative.

Perez has been charged with Breach of Peace,Resisting Arrest,and Felony Possession of a  Firearm.He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond for  a Wednesday appearance in Bristol Superior Court.
