Car Burglary Suspect Tied To Similar Glastonbury Crimes

Glastonbury police say a suspect in a slew of car burglaries in their town has been tied to hundreds such crimes in surrounding municipalities.

Thirty-two-year-old Eric Van Allen Johnson of Springfield, Massachusetts is charged with 17 car break-ins that occured in Glastonbury in the overnight hours between August 12-13.

The crimes were committed on Woodbridge Road, Whapley Road, Morgan Drive, Stevens Lane, Talcott Road, and Sherman Road.

About a week later, Bloomfield police arrested Andrew Dupree on car burglary charges.

Investigators in that town say Dupree, Johnson, and a 16-year-old juvenile may be responsible for about 500 car burglaries around the region.

Johnson faces charges of burglary, larceny and conspiracy.

Presently, there’s a warrant out for the arrest of the 16-year-old.
