New Britain Man Arrested In Attempted West Hartford Carjacking

About 10 o’clock last night, West Hartford Police say James Walker shot at a silver car on Oakwood Avenue.

The 38-year-old ran away, and police spotted him on Troy Street, where investigators say he tried to order a man to hand over his car keys and a cell phone.

Police found Walker behind a multi-family house on Arnoldale Road with a resident. He is accused of trying to break into an apartment in the building.

The New Britain resident faces a list of charges including robbery, possession of a firearm by a felon, attempted carjacking, and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

Police say they found two stolen cell phones, cocaine, stolen car keys, cash and a .38 caliber handgun.
