FREEDOM, N.H. (AP) _ Residents in the small town of Freedom, N.H., want the Red Sox to win the World Series, partly to carry out a provision of their 3-year-old fireworks ordinance.
The ordinance, enacted in 2010, allows people in Freedom to light off fireworks on holidays like the Fourth of July and and New Year’s Eve.
WMWV-FM reports town moderator Don Johnson proposed –and got approval for– an amendment allowing fireworks to be used within “24 hours following the final out when the Red Sox win the World Series.”
Johnson said if the Sox win, he hopes to get back to Freedom from a business trip in time to light off some fireworks.
