Secretary of the State Denise Merrill is urging  Connecticut residents to register to vote  next week. Tuesday is the final day  to register in person  at town offices  to vote in the November  5  Municipal Elections.The deadline is 8 p.m.The mail-in voter registration deadline  has already passed.

Absentee ballots  are  available at  town clerks offices  for registered voters who are not able to vote at polling places  on Election  day,if they will be out of state  or unable to vote due to illness, physical disability or other reasons  listed by state alw. Absentee ballots wll be available until  next Monday, November 4.

For the first time this year,if the deadline is missed,people can   register to vote on Election Day.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m November 5.Most  Connecticut  cities and towns are holding elections that day.
