Trial Begins For Doctor Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Patients
There was dramatic testimony today during the first day of trial for a doctor accused of sexually assaulting female patients.
Dr. Tory Westbrook is currently only on trial for charges related to five of the women, but he faces additional charges related to at least a dozen more patients.
Westbrook sat at the defense table, as a young woman on the witness stand identified him. The woman is identified in court only by her initials, YB.
She halted several times during her testimony, crying as she described the details of how and where on her body she says the doctor touched, pinched, and grabbed her while she was naked in an exam room.
She said she can still feel his hands on her.
She saw him in November, 2010, at the Community Health Center in Clinton for a school physical for Central Connecticut State University.
The woman said the doctor’s fingers were briefly inside her.
But the doctor says he is innocent. Several relatives sat in the courtroom behind him.
His defense attorney has compared this case to a bus accident, in which people passing by get on the bus and pretend to have been injured.
Westbrook also had a hair removal office in Manchester. He lives in Glastonbury.
