Police Warn Of Distracted Burglary

Madison police are alerting town residents to a so-called distraction burglary in town from this weekend.

The say the incident occurred Saturday afternoon at a home on Ridge Road.

According to police, an Hispanic male approached the homeowner, claiming to be doing tree work in the neighborhood.

As one suspect engaged the homeowner, a second person entered the house through an open garage door, stealing an undetermined amount of cash.

Police say the Hispanic suspect is about 25-years-old, stands five-feet-five inches, has a thin build and bushy hair.

He was dressed in jeans and a dark-colored windbreaker and may be driving a newer model grey or dark pickup truck.

Police are urging residents to keep doors and windows locked, even when at home.
