Prescription Drug Disposal Events Saturday

Residents have another opportunity to get rid of expired or unused prescription drugs during Saturday’s drug take-back event.

John Dobbins of the UConn School of Pharmacy told WTIC’s Ray Dunaway that dropping off the expired or unused drugs keeps them out of the hands of curious youngsters, and out of the water supply or the waste stream.

The event is part of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Drop-offs are anonymous. Th he public can drop off the medications on Saturday at a variety of locations.
