It Has Finally Happened
Well, it has finally happened, according to the new census data there are more people on various government subsidies than people working in the United States of America. Americans who were recipients of means-tested government benefits in 2011 outnumbered year round full-time workers. http://cnsnews.com/news/article/terence-p-jeffrey/census-bureau-means-tested-govt-benefit-recipients-outnumber-full#sthash.kw0R3v4x.dpuf Of course the numbers will get even worse as more people are shifted to part-time workers so employers can avoid providing healthcare. There were 108 million people who were on food stamps, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income, TARP,WIC, subsidized rental housing, or subsidized meals. Many of these individuals were on more than one program as well. There were 101 million people working full time. The scale has finally swung, and this data was from 2011, I imagine the numbers have gotten worse not better as the economy continues to sputter along. These numbers do not include people on social security, Medicare or unemployment , then the numbers would climb to over 150 million. With these numbers growing and a $17 trillion debt, our nation is in deep financial trouble, now add government subsidized insurance called Obamacare and we have saddled our children and grandchildren with extraordinary burdens. Interesting legacy we leave.
