Fire Routs Hartford Home

Fire broke out in a multi-family home this morning in Hartford.

The call came in before six o’clock to 496 Edgewood Street.

The home was occupied by three families, 13 residents in all, including five children.

Captain James McLoughlin with Hartford Fire Department says the blaze ultimately went to two alarms, with over 50 firefighters on the attack.

He says two firefighters suffered minor arm head injuries and were treated at St. Francis Hospital.

McLoughlin says none of the residents was hurt and they are being assisted by the city’s special services division.

The fire marshal will determine the cause of the blaze.
