Authorities say they don’t believe there is any criminal aspect to the death of a 77-year-old Woodstock woman whose body was found in a wooded area off Butts Road Thursday afternoon, about half a mile from her home.
77-year-old Rolande Magnan had been last seen about 8:30 a.m. when she left for a morning walk and did not return home. Police issued a “Silver Alert” Wednesday evening. Temperatures in the area dropped into the thirties overnight.
The search included State Police dogs and the State Police helicopter along with members of the Woodstock Volunteer Fire Association, Muddy Brook Fire Department, Bungay Fire Brigade, the Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security / Urban Search and Rescue K-9 teams (USAR), DEEP, Connecticut State Police Dive Team and Recruits from the Connecticut State Police Academy, along with family and friends in an attempt to locate Mrs. Magnan.
Her body was found shortly before 1:00 p.m. Thursday.
