Waterbury Police Hunt Murder Suspect

Police in Waterbury are on the lookout for a murder suspect.

They say around six o’clock last evening, they were called to a report of a fight on James Street.

The investigation determined that 39-year-old Philip Grundy was involved in a fight with two other men.

One victim, identified as 17-year-old Brendan Feliciano of Meriden, was stabbed in the chest and later died at St. Mary’s Hospital.

A second victim, 23-year-old Waterbury resident Jeffrey Gomez sustained a lower back wound.

Investigators say the cause of the fight appears to have stemmed from a previous dispute between Grundy’s girlfriend and the girlfriend of one of the victims.

Police obtained a warrant for Grundy, who will be charged with murder and assault.
