Fine Threatened At Dumpy Trailer Park

Officials find vermin and abandoned buildings at a Branford mobile home park.

The state could fine the owners of the Shoreline Trailer Park as much as 40-thousand dollars, unless they clean things up.

State Department of Consumer Protection Commissioner Bill Rubenstein said there were rodents, vacant trailers, and overgrowth that interfered with electrical repairs and road maintenance.

“It really looked like any prop[erty that has not been maintained for years and years,” Rubenstein said. “Potholes in the roads, cracks, pooling water, bad grading of the property.

“The park was essentially a mess,” Rubenstein said.

Rubenstein says the park’s owners are failing to provide reasonable living conditions.
